What we use to deliver Dynamics 365 for retail companies
Only what the first phase needs is switched on; more follows in later phases.
Dynamics 365 for Retail Companies in Dubai: what is included
Dynamics 365 for retail companies in Dubai means Business Central running stores in the big malls, a free-zone warehouse, marketplace channels and franchise reporting from one ledger.
Festival-season replenishment
Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises, Ramadan and Eid move demand in sharp spikes. We set Business Central replenishment rules and Power BI views on prior-season sell-through so buyers order against the event calendar rather than last month's average.
Mall turnover-rent reporting
Where a mall lease carries a turnover-rent clause, the landlord wants certified sales by store, often monthly. We build a Business Central report or Power Automate export in the landlord's format, so finance stops rebuilding it from POS exports each month.
Franchise principal reporting
Many Dubai retailers operate international brands under franchise. We configure royalty and marketing-fee calculations, brand-level dimensions and multi-currency reporting in USD or EUR, so the monthly principal pack comes straight from the ledger.
Free-zone warehouse to mainland
A JAFZA or Dubai South distribution centre feeding mainland stores is often a separate entity with its own VAT treatment. We model the entities, transfer pricing and intercompany postings so stock moves are traceable and the VAT return reconciles.
Marketplace payout reconciliation
Noon, Amazon.ae and delivery-app payouts arrive net of commission, fees and returns. We import settlement reports and match them to orders in Business Central, posting commissions and fees to the right accounts instead of one unexplained deposit.
Tourist VAT refund tagging
Tourist-heavy stores issue refund-eligible tax invoices through the tourist VAT refund scheme. We carry the refund flag from POS into Business Central so tagged sales are visible for the VAT return and audit; we confirm the current requirement at scoping.
Gift sets assembled for Ramadan and Eid
How Dynamics 365 for retail companies in Dubai looks in practice. Illustrative; every project is scoped to the business.

For example, a Dubai perfume and oud retailer runs kiosks and stores in Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Deira. Before Ramadan and Eid it assembles gift sets from perfumes, oils and boxes in its Al Quoz workshop. Sets are built from spreadsheets, component stock is never quite right, and unsold sets after Eid are broken up without any record.
- Set up gift sets as assembly items in Business Central with bills of materials for perfumes, oils, burners and packaging, costed from component prices.
- Record assembly orders at the Al Quoz workshop, consuming components and producing finished sets that transfer to each kiosk and store.
- Handle post-Eid disassembly with reverse assembly orders that return reusable components to stock and write off damaged packaging with a reason.

Which platform for Dynamics 365 for retail companies in Dubai?
An honest comparison. We implement all of these, so the recommendation follows your processes, team and budget.
| Option | Best when | How it fits this need |
|---|---|---|
| Business Central with Assembly | Retailers assembling bundles or gift sets from stock components | Fits Dubai retailers who build seasonal gift sets, hampers or bundles and need component stock, costing and store transfers in one ledger. POS stays with your retail system. |
| Dynamics 365 Commerce | Large retail chains wanting Microsoft's full store and e-commerce suite | Commerce covers POS, e-commerce and store operations at enterprise scale. It suits large groups; for most Dubai specialist retailers it adds cost and complexity they do not need. |
| Odoo POS with Inventory | Smaller retailers wanting POS, kits and stock in one lower-cost system | Odoo supports kits, manufacturing orders for bundles and its own POS with UAE accounting. It suits smaller perfume and gift retailers willing to switch POS. |
| Zoho Inventory with Zoho Books | Few stores and simple bundles sold mainly online | Zoho Inventory handles composite items and multiple warehouses at low cost. It suits smaller retailers with simple sets and strong online sales rather than many mall kiosks. |
What changes in Dubai
The local rules and realities we design for before go-live. Rules change, so we re-check the current position at scoping.
Plan go-live around DSF
We avoid cutting over during Dubai Shopping Festival, Ramadan or the pre-Eid rush. Most Dubai retailers go live between seasons so store teams learn the new process before footfall peaks.
Bilingual receipts and invoices
Dubai stores serve residents and tourists who expect Arabic and English documents. Tax invoices carry the TRN and both languages, generated from Business Central or the POS layer.
On-site store workshops
We run discovery remotely from our RAK Free Trade Zone office and visit Dubai head offices and flagship stores for workshops and cutover weekends when the project needs it.
Working with businesses in Dubai: we support companies across JAFZA, DMCC, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Internet City, DIFC, Al Quoz and Dubai South, with remote delivery and on-site workshops where the project needs them.
What drives the cost, and what it connects to
No price list: we quote a fixed price in AED after discovery. These are the factors that move the effort up or down.
Seasonal set range
More gift set designs, packaging variants and seasonal changes mean more bills of materials to create, cost and retire each year, adding setup and testing work before each season.
Stores and kiosks served
Each mall store and kiosk needs a location, transfer rules and POS mapping. Temporary seasonal kiosks add setup and closing steps that must be planned in advance.
POS integration
Connecting your POS so new set items, prices and sales flow automatically depends on the POS vendor's API and adds integration testing across stores.
Disassembly and write-offs
Handling reverse assembly, component returns and write-offs with reasons adds process design and reporting, but prevents the stock losses that usually follow each season.
What it connects to
New gift set items and prices go to the POS, and store sales return to Business Central to reduce set stock by location.
Gift sets and available stock publish online, and web orders are fulfilled from the nearest store or the Al Quoz workshop.
Marketplace orders for sets reduce stock in Business Central, and payout reports are reconciled against sales and fees.
Purchase orders for boxes and printed packaging are raised from component shortages calculated ahead of each season.
Set sales, remaining stock and sell-through by store during Ramadan and Eid are shown to merchandising and store managers daily.

When Dynamics 365 for retail companies is the wrong answer
Dynamics 365 is not a till system, and Microsoft's own retail POS product is aimed at large chains with a big budget. A retailer with one or two stores and a Shopify site is usually better served by Zoho Books with Zoho Inventory or Odoo with Odoo POS, and we will say so at discovery.
How we handle it: We implement Zoho, Odoo and Dynamics 365 and build AI and custom software, so our written recommendation can point you to a simpler option, or to doing nothing yet.
Checklist and common mistakes
Buyer's checklist
What to ask for before you choose a provider.
- Ask how seasonal gift sets will be built from components and how component shortages are shown before the season.
- Confirm how assembled sets are costed and transferred to each Dubai store and kiosk with correct values.
- Check how unsold sets are disassembled after the season, with reusable components returned and waste recorded.
- Ask how your POS will receive new set items and prices without staff creating them manually in each store.
- Require stock visibility by store and kiosk so staff can locate a set for a customer at another mall.
- Confirm go-live timing avoids Ramadan, Eid and Dubai Shopping Festival peaks, when stores cannot spare staff for training.
Common mistakes
What we see go wrong in the UAE, and how to avoid it.
- Building sets from spreadsheetsSpreadsheet assembly plans drift from real stock and costs. Use assembly orders so components are consumed and sets are created with accurate values and quantities.
- Discarding unsold sets without recordsBreaking up sets without recording it loses components and distorts margins. Use reverse assembly and record damaged packaging as write-offs with a reason.
- Late component purchasingOrdering packaging close to Ramadan risks shortages. Calculate component needs from planned set quantities weeks ahead and order early. Include packaging lead times from suppliers.
- Creating set items per storeLetting each store create its own set codes causes duplicates and wrong prices. Create items centrally and push them to POS for all stores.
