Dynamics 365 Implementation in the UAE
Dynamics 365 implementation in the UAE is the structured work of turning licences into a live system: fit-gap design, configuration, extensions, data migration, testing and cut-over. Shyphan runs it as a phased method with named roles, written entry and exit criteria for each phase, VAT and e-invoicing test scripts and a rehearsed go-live weekend, for Sales, Customer Service, Business Central and Finance.

What we use to deliver Dynamics 365 implementation
Only what the first phase needs is switched on; more follows in later phases.
Dynamics 365 Implementation in the UAE: what is included
Dynamics 365 implementation in the UAE is the structured work of turning licences into a live system: fit-gap design, configuration, extensions, data migration, testing and cut-over.
Fit-gap before any build
Every requirement is marked as standard, configuration, extension or out of scope in a fit-gap log. Only extensions carry development effort, so you see exactly where the money goes and can remove gaps by changing a process instead.
Named roles on both sides
Our side: project manager, solution architect, functional consultants and developers. Your side: executive sponsor, process owners, a data owner and super users. Each role has written duties and a weekly time commitment agreed in week one.
Three environments, one pipeline
Development, test and production environments are created in the Business Central or Power Platform admin centre. Extensions and solutions move between them through Azure DevOps, never by hand, so what was tested is what goes live.
SIT, UAT and VAT scripts
System integration testing proves each interface end to end; user acceptance testing runs your real scenarios. A dedicated VAT script checks standard, zero-rated, exempt and reverse-charge postings against a draft VAT 201 before sign-off.
Rehearsed data migration
Masters, open documents and opening balances load through configuration packages or dataflows at least twice before go-live. Each rehearsal is reconciled to trial balance and ageing reports by your finance team, not just by us.
Go or no-go cut-over
A written cut-over plan lists every task hour by hour, the freeze on the old system, final balance loads and a rollback point. Go-live only happens when the agreed exit criteria are met and signed.
Multi-emirate contractor replacing three separate systems
How Dynamics 365 implementation in the UAE looks in practice. Illustrative; every project is scoped to the business.

Picture a UAE engineering contractor with entities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, running projects for industrial and infrastructure clients. Estimating uses one tool, project costs sit in a separate system, finance uses a third, and each emirate's office has its own habits. The owners want one Dynamics 365 platform and a controlled implementation.
- Run a fit-gap across all three offices, documenting where processes should be standard and where emirate-specific differences are justified, with owners signing off each decision.
- Build Business Central for finance and projects plus Dynamics 365 Sales for bids, in development, test and production environments with a controlled release pipeline.
- Migrate data one entity at a time with reconciliation reports, running parallel month-end closes before each office switches off its old system.

Which platform for Dynamics 365 implementation in the UAE?
An honest comparison. We implement all of these, so the recommendation follows your processes, team and budget.
| Option | Best when | How it fits this need |
|---|---|---|
| Dynamics 365 Business Central with Sales | Mid-sized UAE company needing ERP and CRM on Microsoft | Covers finance, projects, inventory and sales at SME and mid-market scale with Microsoft 365 integration. Needs a partner UAE localisation, as Microsoft ships no official one. |
| Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations apps | Large enterprise with complex controls and supply chain | Suits larger UAE groups with complex consolidation, procurement and supply chain needs. Implementation is longer and requires strong internal teams and governance. |
| Odoo | Integrated ERP with lower licence cost and broad modules | Odoo covers accounting, projects, inventory and CRM in one system with an official UAE localisation. It suits companies not committed to Microsoft and wanting flexibility. |
| Zoho One | Smaller company wanting a broad suite at low cost | Zoho One bundles Books, CRM, Projects and People affordably. It suits smaller UAE firms without complex project costing or deep ERP requirements. |
What changes in the UAE
The local rules and realities we design for before go-live. Rules change, so we re-check the current position at scoping.
Go live on a VAT boundary
We plan cut-over for the first day of a VAT return period where possible, so one VAT 201 does not have to be assembled from two systems. The FTA filing deadline is 28 days after period end.
Ramadan and year-end planning
Shorter working hours in Ramadan and the December year-end close both reduce the time key users can give to UAT. We schedule testing and training around them rather than letting them slip the go-live date.
E-invoicing in the test plan
UAE e-invoicing via PINT AE and an Accredited Service Provider starts with a pilot from 1 July 2026. Check the Ministry of Finance for the latest dates; the ASP connector gets its own SIT cycle.
What drives the cost, and what it connects to
No price list: we quote a fixed price in AED after discovery. These are the factors that move the effort up or down.
Apps in scope
Business Central alone is smaller. Adding Sales, Customer Service, Field Service or Power Platform apps increases design, integration and testing effort across more teams and processes.
Entities and emirates
Each entity adds tax set-up, banking, reporting and training. Offices in several emirates with different practices need extra workshops to agree common processes.
Gaps needing extensions
Standard fit keeps cost down. Each gap requiring AL extensions, plug-ins or custom integrations adds design, build, testing and long-term maintenance through release waves.
Internal team availability
Available, empowered key users speed delivery. If your staff have little time for workshops and testing, the project takes longer and needs more consultant effort.
What it connects to
Documents, emails and meetings link to Dynamics records; project channels in Teams connect to projects and opportunities.
Payment files flow out and statements flow in for reconciliation across all entities.
Payroll journals flow into finance with project and cost centre dimensions; WPS files stay with the approved agent.
Tax invoices flow out in PINT AE format through the ASP; clearance responses flow back onto invoice records.
Project margins, cash flow and pipeline flow into management dashboards across entities.

When Dynamics 365 implementation is the wrong answer
A full method has overhead. If you are a UAE team of five to ten users needing only a sales pipeline, a lighter Dynamics 365 Sales Professional set-up over four to six weeks is enough, and Zoho CRM may be cheaper still. For pricing ranges and licence costs, see our Dynamics 365 implementation cost page instead.
How we handle it: We implement Zoho, Odoo and Dynamics 365 and build AI and custom software, so our written recommendation can point you to a simpler option, or to doing nothing yet.
Checklist and common mistakes
Buyer's checklist
What to ask for before you choose a provider.
- Ask for the implementation method in writing, with phases, deliverables, entry and exit criteria for each.
- Require named consultants and a named project manager, and ask what happens if someone leaves mid-project.
- Confirm how environments, release management and source control will be set up and who owns them.
- Ask how VAT, Corporate Tax and e-invoicing requirements will be tested, and check the Ministry of Finance for the latest dates.
- Check the provider's approach to data migration: tools, rehearsals, reconciliation and sign-off.
- Ask what your internal team must provide in time and roles, so the project is resourced realistically.
Common mistakes
What we see go wrong in the UAE, and how to avoid it.
- Skipping fit-gap to save timeJumping straight into configuration leads to rework. A documented fit-gap agreed by owners saves far more time than it takes, especially across several emirates.
- Unclear decision authorityWhen nobody can make final design decisions, projects stall for weeks. Name a sponsor and process owners with clear authority before the first workshops start.
- Testing only happy pathsTests covering only normal transactions miss credit notes, partial deliveries and VAT edge cases. Include exceptions and period-end processes in UAT scripts.
- Treating go-live as the endGo-live is the start of use, not the finish. Plan hypercare, adoption reviews and a roadmap for improvements, rather than disbanding the team immediately.
