What we deliver

Taxi App Development in the UAE: what is included

Taxi app development UAE licensed operators need covers three connected pieces: a rider app for immediate and pre-booked trips, a driver app with navigation and fare capture, and a dispatch console with live fleet view.

01

Emirate-specific tariffs

Where you are licensed in more than one emirate, each has its own tariff, zones and airport fees. The fare engine applies the right tariff by pick-up emirate, and reports split trips by licence for your filings.

02

Inter-emirate trips

Riders book trips from one emirate to another, such as Sharjah to Abu Dhabi. The app applies your inter-emirate pricing and return-leg rules, and dispatch sees vehicles that will end outside their home emirate.

03

Several brands, one back office

Groups running a taxi brand, a limousine brand and a chauffeur service under separate licences keep separate apps, tariffs, drivers and reports for each, while head office sees combined performance and manages users from one administration area.

04

Utilisation by emirate

Reports show trips per vehicle per shift, idle time, empty kilometres and peak demand hours for each emirate you serve. Data exports to Power BI or Zoho Analytics, so planners can move vehicles to where requests are going unanswered.

05

Accessible vehicle requests

Riders can ask for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle when booking. Only equipped vehicles receive those requests, the dispatch console shows how many are online in each emirate, and pre-bookings for accessible trips are held for suitably trained drivers.

06

Ratings and complaint tickets

Riders rate each trip, and a low rating or written complaint opens a ticket for your operations team with the route, timeline and driver details attached. Drivers see feedback summaries and trends rather than individual rider names.

UAE specifics

What changes in the UAE

The local rules and realities we design for before go-live. Rules change, so we re-check the current position at scoping.

Airport transfers

Airport pick-ups at Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are a large share of pre-booked trips. The app tracks flight times where you add them, with meeting instructions and waiting time rules.

Arabic and English riders

Riders choose Arabic or English with full RTL support, and drivers can use the app in the language they read best. Addresses search both Arabic and English place names.

One office, seven emirates

We work from our RAK FTZ office and deliver remotely across all seven emirates, joining you on site in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah when a workshop, pilot or driver onboarding session works better in person.

How it works

How we deliver taxi app development

Phases, indicative timing and what is delivered in each. Scope is fixed and priced in AED before we start.

1Weeks 1-2

Licence and tariff mapping

We list every emirate your licence covers, its tariff structure and booking types, and decide which pick-ups the app allows in each.

2Weeks 3-5

Shared design system

One bilingual design system for rider, driver and dispatch apps, with per-emirate settings so adding a licensed emirate becomes configuration rather than new code.

3Weeks 6-15

Core platform build

Matching, fares, payments, corporate accounts and multi-emirate reporting are built in two-week sprints, each ending with a build your operations team tests.

4Weeks 16-18

Two-emirate pilot

Drivers in two licensed emirates run live trips so we can check tariff switching, cross-emirate pricing and dispatch handovers before wider release.

5Week 19 onward

Staged national rollout

Remaining emirates switch on one at a time, with driver onboarding, store releases and monthly updates whenever tariffs or licence conditions change.

When taxi app development is the wrong answer

A national rider app only makes sense if you actually hold licences in several emirates. If your fleet operates in one emirate, multi-emirate tariffs and reporting add complexity and cost you will not use. We would build for your licensed emirate first and add others as configuration once new licences are granted.

How we handle it: We implement Zoho, Odoo and Dynamics 365 and build AI and custom software, so our written recommendation can point you to a simpler option, or to doing nothing yet.

FAQ

Taxi App Development in the UAE: questions we get asked

Can one taxi app cover every emirate our UAE licence allows?
It can. If your licence covers several emirates, each gets its own tariff, zones and reports, and one set of apps serves them all. We only enable pick-ups where you are licensed, so the app never offers trips you cannot legally run.
Can you help us get a taxi licence?
No. Licensing is between you and the relevant emirate's transport authority. We build the apps to match your licence conditions and tariff, and we can prepare technical documents the authority asks you for about the system.
How does a UAE taxi app differ from an on-demand service or food delivery app?
A taxi app moves a passenger now, matching the nearest licensed vehicle within seconds and pricing against your approved tariff. An on-demand app books a technician into a time slot, such as an AC service at a villa, and a food delivery app carries an order from a kitchen to a door. Passenger safety, vehicle classes and licence rules make taxi apps a separate build.
What does a multi-emirate taxi app cost in the UAE?
You get a fixed quote in AED after a free discovery call. For a national operator the main cost drivers are the number of emirates and tariffs, vehicle classes, corporate billing and your chosen payment gateways. We normally split the work into releases so your first licensed emirate launches before the others.
How long before our first emirate goes live?
Plan on roughly four months to a first live emirate for rider, driver and dispatch apps, including a pilot with your own drivers. Each additional licensed emirate is then mostly configuration and driver onboarding, measured in weeks, provided its tariff and conditions are confirmed in writing first.
Can the dispatch console feed our accounting and HR systems?
Yes. Trip revenue, corporate invoices and driver settlements export to Zoho Books, Odoo or Dynamics 365 Business Central through their APIs, and driver records can sync with your HR system. We agree the data mapping early so finance never rekeys trips by hand.
Why choose Shyphan?
We are a Zoho Premium Partner, an Official Odoo Partner and an independent Dynamics 365 consultancy that also builds AI and custom software, so we recommend by fit rather than by what we resell. Delivery runs from our Ras Al Khaimah office with remote delivery across all seven emirates.
