What we deliver

Marketplace App Development in the UAE: what is included

Marketplace app development UAE founders commission is really three products: a buyer app, vendor tools and an admin console, joined by commission, split payments, payouts and disputes.

01

Vendors across the emirates

Vendors set their service area and dispatch location by emirate, so buyers see only offers that can reach them. Delivery fees and times reflect where the vendor ships from, not a single national average.

02

Vendor or platform fulfilment

Each vendor can ship with its own couriers, or hand orders to the platform's logistics partner. The app tracks both models and charges fulfilment fees only where the platform actually delivered.

03

Staged vendor approval

A new seller moves from application to document review, test listing and go-live, with your category managers signing off each stage. Sellers can see where their application stands, which cuts the chasing emails your team would otherwise answer by hand.

04

Commission tiers by category

Electronics, fashion and groceries rarely carry the same take rate. Rates are configured per category with optional vendor overrides and time-limited launch discounts, and every order line records the rate applied so finance can explain any payout later.

05

Claims desk for buyer complaints

Missing items, wrong sizes and late deliveries arrive as structured claims with photos. The vendor has a set window to respond, after which your agents decide, and the outcome adjusts the next payout without anyone editing spreadsheets.

06

Vendor-funded promotions

Sellers join platform campaigns by offering their own discount, and the app records who funds each reduction. Buyers see one clear price, while payout statements show exactly which promotion cost came from the vendor and which from the platform.

UAE specifics

What changes in the UAE

The local rules and realities we design for before go-live. Rules change, so we re-check the current position at scoping.

Trade licences and TRNs

UAE vendors hold mainland or free zone trade licences and may or may not be VAT registered. Onboarding captures licence type, activities and TRN so invoicing and payouts are correct.

Arabic and English on all sides

Buyers, vendors and admins each choose Arabic or English. Vendors can list products in both languages, search works across them, and notifications reach each user in the language they chose.

E-invoicing on commission invoices

Under Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244 of 2025, UAE businesses move to PINT AE e-invoicing through Accredited Service Providers from 2026 and 2027. Commission invoices to vendors should be designed for this; check the Ministry of Finance for the latest dates.

How it works

How we deliver marketplace app development

Phases, indicative timing and what is delivered in each. Scope is fixed and priced in AED before we start.

1Weeks 1-2

Money flow workshop

We map buyer payment, commission, VAT on fees, refunds and payout timing with your payment provider and tax adviser before any design work begins.

2Week 3

Launch emirate choice

We pick one or two emirates for launch based on where your signed vendors sit, and set delivery zones and fees around them.

3Weeks 4-15

Three-sided build

Buyer app, vendor portal and admin console are built together in two-week sprints, each ending with test orders that run through to a simulated payout.

4Weeks 16-18

Seeded closed beta

Signed vendors list real stock while invited buyers place live orders, so payout statements and claims are proven before public launch.

5Week 19 onward

National expansion

Store release, then new emirates open one at a time as vendor coverage there becomes strong enough to serve buyers reliably.

When marketplace app development is the wrong answer

Opening in all seven emirates on day one usually spreads a small vendor base too thin: buyers in Fujairah or Al Ain see empty categories and long delivery times. If most of your signed sellers are in one or two emirates, we would launch there, prove repeat orders, and add regions only when local supply can meet the delivery promise.

How we handle it: We implement Zoho, Odoo and Dynamics 365 and build AI and custom software, so our written recommendation can point you to a simpler option, or to doing nothing yet.

FAQ

Marketplace App Development in the UAE: questions we get asked

What does a UAE marketplace app project need to settle first?
A clear money flow: which payment provider handles split payments, who invoices whom for VAT, and when vendors are paid. Once that is agreed with your provider and tax adviser, the buyer, vendor and admin features follow naturally.
Can vendors from free zones and the mainland both sell?
Yes. Onboarding records whether each vendor holds a free zone or mainland licence and whether it is VAT registered. Delivery and tax handling can differ, so we agree the rules with your tax adviser before launch.
How is a UAE marketplace app different from an e-commerce app or an on-demand service app?
An e-commerce app sells one company's own stock, so there is no seller onboarding or payout. An on-demand app dispatches a job to the nearest available provider in real time. A marketplace lets many independent sellers list, set prices and fulfil, while the platform earns commission and settles each seller separately.
What does a national marketplace cost to build in the UAE?
You receive a fixed quote in AED after a free discovery call. The main cost drivers for a national platform are the number of emirates and delivery models at launch, how many payment and courier providers are involved, and whether vendors get a mobile app or a web portal only.
Will UAE e-invoicing rules affect our marketplace?
Very likely, because the platform issues commission and fee invoices to vendors. We structure those invoices so they can pass to an Accredited Service Provider in PINT AE format when your phase begins. Timelines are set by the Ministry of Finance, so check its latest guidance with your tax adviser.
Where is marketplace data hosted and who owns it?
You own the code, the cloud account and the data. We usually deploy in AWS me-central-1 or Azure UAE North, keep buyer and seller personal data in line with the PDPL, and hand over the Git repository and infrastructure scripts on final payment.
Why choose Shyphan?
We are a Zoho Premium Partner, an Official Odoo Partner and an independent Dynamics 365 consultancy that also builds AI and custom software, so we recommend by fit rather than by what we resell. Delivery runs from our Ras Al Khaimah office with remote delivery across all seven emirates.
