Custom Accounting Software in the UAE
Custom accounting software UAE companies commission usually means a specialised billing, allocation or reporting layer built beside a proven ledger, not a new general ledger. Shyphan builds it with VAT treatments mapped to VAT 201, Corporate Tax tagging, PINT AE ready invoices and multi-entity consolidation, then posts clean entries to Zoho Books, Odoo or Business Central.

What we use to deliver custom accounting software
Tools and platforms we typically use, and the systems it connects to. The final choice is made against your systems, budget and team.
Custom Accounting Software in the UAE: what is included
Custom accounting software UAE companies commission usually means a specialised billing, allocation or reporting layer built beside a proven ledger, not a new general ledger.
VAT 201 mapping and review
Every transaction carries a VAT treatment, such as standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, reverse charge or designated zone, mapped to VAT 201 boxes. Finance reviews a box-by-box drill-down before filing with the FTA, instead of rebuilding the return in spreadsheets.
Corporate Tax adjustments
Accounting profit is bridged to taxable income with tagged adjustments, such as non-deductible expenses and exempt income. For free zone entities, qualifying and non-qualifying income can be tagged by transaction to support Qualifying Free Zone Person analysis.
E-invoicing ready documents
Invoices and credit notes are structured so they can be sent in PINT AE format through an Accredited Service Provider when e-invoicing applies to you, from the July 2026 pilot onwards; check the Ministry of Finance for the latest dates.
Multi-entity consolidation
Groups with mainland and free zone companies post in each entity's books, with intercompany transactions matched and eliminated automatically. Consolidated statements are produced in AED with currency translation for foreign subsidiaries.
Industry billing sub-ledgers
Where your billing is unusual, such as service charges, commissions, subscriptions or tuition instalments, a custom sub-ledger calculates and tracks it, then posts clean summarised entries to the general ledger so auditors see a clear link.
Bank reconciliation for UAE banks
Statements from UAE banks are imported by file or API and matched to receipts and payments with rules you control. Unmatched items are queued for review, and reconciliation status is visible per account every day, not only at month end.
The systems it plugs into
Real screens from the platforms we implement. Yours are configured to your entities, processes and KPIs.

Executive KPI dashboard in Zoho Analytics
Leads, conversions, revenue, expenses, profit, tickets and satisfaction on one board, drawn from Zoho CRM, Expense and Desk. Your software reads from and writes back to screens like this one, so nothing is re-keyed.
- VAT 201 mapping and review
- Corporate Tax adjustments
- E-invoicing ready documents

Sales dashboard in Odoo
Quotations, orders, revenue and average order value with the monthly trend, built from live Odoo data. The same software connects to Odoo in exactly the same way.
- Multi-entity consolidation
- FTA VAT at 5%
- Designated zone VAT treatment
What changes in the UAE
The local rules and realities we design for before go-live. Rules change, so we re-check the current position at scoping.
FTA VAT at 5%
VAT at 5% is administered by the FTA, with returns usually quarterly and due 28 days after period end. Every invoice carries TRN and VAT treatment so the return reconciles to the ledger.
Designated zone VAT treatment
Designated zones and the mainland are treated differently for VAT on goods. Transactions carry the correct location and treatment so movements between zones are reported properly.
PINT AE e-invoicing path
Under Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244 of 2025, businesses with AED 50M+ revenue go live from January 2027, others from July 2027; check the Ministry of Finance for the latest dates.
How we deliver custom accounting software
Phases, indicative timing and what is delivered in each. Scope is fixed and priced in AED before we start.
Finance process review
We map your chart of accounts, billing, VAT treatments, entities and reports with finance to decide what must be custom and what should not.
Scope and AED quote
A written scope stating which parts are custom and which stay in your ledger, followed by a fixed quote in AED.
Design and prototype
Posting rules, VAT mapping and report layouts designed and reviewed with your accountant or auditor before any code is written.
Build and reconcile
Sprint build, then historical transactions reprocessed and reconciled against your existing books until totals agree to the fils.
Parallel close and handover
One month closed in both systems, differences resolved, then go-live, training and handover of code and documentation.
When custom accounting software is the wrong answer
Very few UAE businesses should write their own general ledger. Zoho Books, Odoo Accounting and Business Central already handle VAT, multi-currency and audit trails well. Custom accounting software is worth it for an unusual billing or reporting layer on top of one of them, which is what we usually recommend and build.
How we handle it: We implement Zoho, Odoo and Dynamics 365 and build AI and custom software, so our written recommendation can point you to a simpler option, or to doing nothing yet.
