What we deliver

Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain in Abu Dhabi: what is included

Our Dynamics 365 Finance Abu Dhabi projects serve energy, utilities, industrial and government-linked groups that need enterprise controls.

01

Consolidation across group entities

Abu Dhabi holding groups often own ADGM, mainland and free zone companies, some outside the UAE. Finance handles intercompany trading, eliminations, currency translation and consolidated statements so the group close no longer depends on spreadsheets.

02

Procurement with tender controls

Organisations in Abu Dhabi's government-linked and energy sectors run formal sourcing. We configure purchase requisitions, RFQs with sealed bid comparison, approval hierarchies by value and category, and vendor evaluations, giving an audit trail from request to payment.

03

Asset management for plants and fleets

Energy, utilities and industrial operators manage pumps, compressors, generators and vehicles. Supply Chain Management's asset management module plans preventive work orders, spares consumption and downtime, and posts maintenance cost to the right asset and cost centre.

04

KIZAD and Musaffah warehousing

Spares warehouses and distribution centres in KIZAD and Musaffah run on advanced warehouse management: license plates, mobile device flows, wave picking and cycle counts, so critical spares are found and issued quickly.

05

Electronic Reporting for UAE tax

VAT returns, Corporate Tax support schedules and e-invoicing output are produced through Electronic Reporting configurations, prepared for the phased UAE e-invoicing mandate through an Accredited Service Provider. Check the Ministry of Finance for the latest dates.

06

Budget control and commitments

Budgets by entity, department and project are checked when requisitions and POs are raised, blocking or warning on overspend, which suits organisations reporting to boards and shareholders with strict budget discipline.

A worked example

Abu Dhabi holding company with diverse subsidiaries

How Dynamics 365 finance & supply chain in Abu Dhabi looks in practice. Illustrative; every project is scoped to the business.

The Copilot home page in Finance and Operations

Picture an Abu Dhabi holding company with subsidiaries in facilities management, catering, industrial supplies and real estate, each on a different accounting system. The group finance team consolidates in Excel each quarter, intercompany balances never agree, and the board asks for budget versus actual reports that take weeks to prepare.

  1. Design a shared chart of accounts and financial dimensions for business unit, project and cost centre, mapped from each subsidiary's current system.
  2. Configure intercompany accounting with automatic matching and elimination rules, so group consolidation runs inside Dynamics 365 Finance rather than Excel.
  3. Set up budget planning with approval workflows by subsidiary, and financial reports comparing budget against actuals for board packs.
What changes: Group finance closes faster with intercompany balances that agree, and the board receives consistent budget versus actual reports prepared from one system rather than many spreadsheets.

Options compared

Which platform for Dynamics 365 finance & supply chain in Abu Dhabi?

An honest comparison. We implement all of these, so the recommendation follows your processes, team and budget.

OptionBest whenHow it fits this need
Dynamics 365 FinanceLarge multi-entity group needing enterprise controls and consolidationBuilt for groups with many legal entities, complex dimensions, budgeting and audit needs. It is a significant programme and needs strong internal finance ownership.
Dynamics 365 Business CentralMid-sized group with simpler structureBusiness Central handles several companies and consolidation well at lower cost. It suits Abu Dhabi groups until volume, controls or process complexity clearly exceed it.
Odoo Enterprise multi-companyGroup wanting one open system across diverse businessesOdoo supports many companies in one database with intercompany rules and suits diverse SME groups. Enterprise budgeting and audit controls are lighter than Dynamics 365 Finance.

UAE specifics

What changes in Abu Dhabi

The local rules and realities we design for before go-live. Rules change, so we re-check the current position at scoping.

Government-linked governance

Abu Dhabi government-linked organisations expect segregation of duties, approval matrices and audit trails. We design security roles and workflows around those requirements and document them for internal audit.

Energy and utilities operations

Energy and utilities companies carry large spares inventories and maintenance programmes. Linking asset maintenance, procurement and finance in one system gives true cost per asset and site.

UAE data residency

Many Abu Dhabi entities require data to stay in the UAE. We confirm Microsoft's UAE region availability for your environment and document hosting and access controls at scoping.

Working with businesses in Abu Dhabi: we support companies across ADGM, KIZAD, Musaffah and Masdar City, with remote delivery and on-site workshops where the project needs them.

Cost and integrations

What drives the cost, and what it connects to

No price list: we quote a fixed price in AED after discovery. These are the factors that move the effort up or down.

Number of legal entities

Each entity needs chart mapping, tax set-up, bank accounts and testing. Groups with many subsidiaries across different industries require more design time and phased rollout planning.

Dimension and reporting design

Simple cost centres are quick. Multiple dimensions for projects, contracts and business units with board-level reporting need careful design with group finance and auditors.

Legacy systems to migrate

One source system is simpler. Several different accounting systems across subsidiaries each need extraction, field mapping, data cleansing and balance reconciliation before migration can be signed off.

Controls and audit needs

Standard approvals are quick. Detailed segregation of duties, workflow approvals and audit reporting for boards or government-linked shareholders add configuration and testing.

What it connects to

Subsidiary operational systems

Sales, payroll and project costs flow from subsidiary systems into Finance as journals or documents through defined interfaces.

UAE bank platforms

Payment files flow out to banks and statements flow back for reconciliation across all group entities.

Payroll provider

Payroll journals per entity flow into Finance with cost centre dimensions for accurate staff cost reporting.

Power BI

Consolidated financial data flows into board dashboards with drill-down by subsidiary and business unit.

E-invoicing Accredited Service Provider

Tax invoices flow out through the ASP in PINT AE format; status responses flow back into Finance.

When Dynamics 365 finance & supply chain is the wrong answer

Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain is a large, costly programme. A single Abu Dhabi company or a group with a few entities and simple operations will usually be better served by Business Central, which is faster and cheaper to implement. We will recommend it if your requirements do not justify the enterprise tier.

How we handle it: We implement Zoho, Odoo and Dynamics 365 and build AI and custom software, so our written recommendation can point you to a simpler option, or to doing nothing yet.

Before you buy

Checklist and common mistakes

Buyer's checklist

What to ask for before you choose a provider.

  • Ask for a design of the chart of accounts and financial dimensions before any configuration begins.
  • Require intercompany matching and elimination to be tested with real balances from at least two subsidiaries.
  • Confirm how UAE VAT groups and Corporate Tax per entity will be handled, and who reviews the design.
  • Ask how each subsidiary's migration will be phased, and what happens to entities waiting for their turn.
  • Check audit trail and segregation of duties features against your internal audit requirements.
  • Ask who will own the system after go-live and what skills your internal team needs to build.

Common mistakes

What we see go wrong in the UAE, and how to avoid it.

  • Copying each subsidiary's chartMerging several charts of accounts creates confusion. Design a shared group chart with dimensions first, then map each subsidiary into it, so consolidation works without manual adjustments.
  • Migrating all entities at onceA big-bang rollout across diverse subsidiaries is risky. Phase entities by readiness and similarity, learning from the first before moving the rest.
  • Weak internal finance ownershipEnterprise ERP needs strong internal owners. Appoint a group finance lead with authority to decide on design questions, or the project stalls waiting for answers.
  • Ignoring Corporate Tax designEach entity may have different Corporate Tax status. Design ledger structures and dimensions with your tax adviser so tax reporting is supported from the start.

FAQ

Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain in Abu Dhabi: questions we get asked

When should an Abu Dhabi group choose Dynamics 365 Finance over Business Central?
Choose Finance and Supply Chain when you have many entities across countries, formal procurement controls, large warehouses or asset-intensive operations. If you are a single company or a small group with standard processes, Business Central is cheaper and faster.
Does Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Abu Dhabi cover asset maintenance for energy companies?
Yes. The asset management capability in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management plans preventive and corrective work orders, reserves spares and posts maintenance cost to assets. Real-time plant control systems stay separate and can be integrated.
How is Dynamics 365 Finance Abu Dhabi different from Dynamics 365 Business Central Abu Dhabi?
Business Central serves SMEs and mid-sized groups with quick rollouts. Finance and Supply Chain serves larger Abu Dhabi enterprises needing consolidation across many entities, budget control, procurement governance and advanced warehousing, with a longer, phased programme.
Can Dynamics 365 Finance handle procurement rules used by Abu Dhabi government-linked entities?
It supports requisitions, RFQs, bid comparison, approval hierarchies, vendor evaluation and budget checks. We configure these to your procurement policy and confirm specific regulatory requirements with your procurement and audit teams at scoping. Approval limits can differ by entity.
How long does a Dynamics 365 Finance implementation take in Abu Dhabi?
A first phase typically takes nine to twelve months, depending on entities, modules and integrations. We break the programme into phases, each with a fixed scope and price in AED agreed before it starts. Each phase ends with a live system, not a document.
Is Shyphan a Microsoft partner for Dynamics 365 Finance?
Shyphan is an independent Dynamics 365 implementation and integration consultancy, not a Microsoft reseller. Licences are purchased from Microsoft or a Microsoft CSP, and we help you size them during the blueprint phase. We never bundle licence resale into our quote.
Can Dynamics 365 Finance consolidate an Abu Dhabi holding company with diverse subsidiaries?
Yes. Dynamics 365 Finance supports many legal entities with shared or separate charts of accounts, intercompany accounting and consolidation. We design shared financial dimensions so a facilities company and a catering company report on a common basis, while each keeps the detail it needs for its own operations.
Can Dynamics 365 Finance handle budgeting for Abu Dhabi group companies?
Yes. Budget planning in Dynamics 365 Finance supports budget preparation by entity and department, approval workflows and version control. Budget control can warn or block purchases that exceed available budget, which suits groups needing tight spending discipline. Budget reports then compare approved figures with actuals by entity.
How long should an Abu Dhabi group expect before all subsidiaries are live?
It depends on the number of entities and systems. We normally phase rollouts, going live with a representative subsidiary first, then others in waves. Timelines are agreed after discovery, with each phase priced separately in AED, rather than one large estimate made upfront.
Why choose Shyphan?
We are a Zoho Premium Partner, an Official Odoo Partner and an independent Dynamics 365 consultancy that also builds AI and custom software, so we recommend by fit rather than by what we resell. Delivery runs from our Ras Al Khaimah office with remote delivery across all seven emirates.
