What it does

What Zoho Invoice gives you out of the box

  • Branded quotes and invoices with online accept-and-pay links
  • Automatic payment reminders and thank-you notes on a schedule you set
  • Project time tracking that converts approved hours into invoice lines
  • Card and Direct Debit collection through Stripe, PayPal and GoCardless
  • Multi-currency invoicing with per-customer default currency
Understanding Zoho Invoice

Is Zoho Invoice the right fit for your business?

Zoho Invoice suits French freelancers, consultants and small firms not yet ready for full accounting. If that describes you, the platform will earn its licence quickly; if it does not, we will say so on the discovery call rather than after the invoice.

The capabilities that matter most in French deployments are branded quotes and invoices with online accept-and-pay links and automatic payment reminders and thank-you notes on a schedule you set. Everything else is configuration around those two.

France runs on several million businesses, the overwhelming majority of them small and mid-sized, and almost all of them paying for more software than they use. We size the edition against what you will genuinely use, which frequently means recommending a cheaper plan than the one you arrived expecting to buy.

Across France

Zoho Invoice for businesses across France

We implement Zoho Invoice for clients in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Lille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Nice, Strasbourg, Grenoble, Montpellier and Rennes and every region between. Delivery is remote on CET and CEST with on-site workshops where the scale justifies it.

French deployments almost always need three things handled properly: French tax treatment, integration with the finance system already in place, and training that survives the first busy month. Those are the parts we spend the most time on.

Whichever app you start with, the delivery is the same: data migration and team training.

Finance in France

Getting Zoho Invoice right in France

Most French finance teams come to us with the same four problems. This is how we handle them in Zoho Invoice.

The right TVA rate on every line

20% on most sales, 10% on restaurant meals and passenger transport, 5.5% on most food and books and 2.1% on press and some medicines: each product carries its rate, and the CA3 or CA12 figures come straight from the ledger.

E-invoices through an approved platform

Invoices go out as Factur-X, UBL or CII through an approved platform (Plateforme Agréée), carrying the mandatory mentions: SIREN, intra-community VAT number, payment terms, the late-payment penalty rate and the EUR 40 recovery fee.

PCG accounts and a FEC on demand

The chart of accounts follows the Plan Comptable Général, and the FEC can be produced at any time, so a tax audit request is an export rather than a project.

EU trade handled properly

Intra-EU B2B sales apply the reverse charge (autoliquidation), B2C distance sales go through the OSS, and the data for EMEBI and DES declarations is ready each month, with the books kept in EUR.

French compliance

What French compliance means for Zoho Invoice

In France, TVA and corporate tax are filed with the DGFiP, payroll is reported every month through the DSN, and the e-invoicing reform changes how invoices are sent and received from 1 September 2026. These are the rules a French setup has to get right.

ObligationWhat the rule isWhat has to be configured
TVA (VAT)The standard rate is 20%, with 10% for restaurants, passenger transport and some renovation work, 5.5% for most food, books and energy-efficiency works, and 2.1% for the press and some medicines. Returns go on the CA3, monthly or quarterly for small amounts, under the régime réel normal, or on the annual CA12 with instalments under the régime réel simplifié. Intra-EU B2B trade uses the reverse charge (autoliquidation) with EMEBI and DES declarations, B2C distance sales go through the OSS, and import VAT is self-assessed on the CA3.The right rate by item and customer, SIREN and intra-community VAT numbers on every invoice with the mandatory mentions (payment terms, late-payment penalty rate and the EUR 40 fixed recovery fee), reverse charge and OSS treatment set correctly, deductible TVA tracked, and CA3 or CA12 figures for each period.
E-invoicing reformFrom 1 September 2026 every VAT-registered business must be able to receive structured e-invoices, and large and mid-sized companies (GE and ETI) must also issue e-invoices and e-report. SMEs and micro-businesses must issue from 1 September 2027. Invoices travel through approved platforms (Plateformes Agréées) in Factur-X, UBL or CII format, and invoices to the public sector already go through Chorus Pro.Zoho Books' French edition producing Factur-X invoices and connected to B2Brouter, an approved platform, for sending and receiving, customer SIREN numbers captured on every account, and the full flow tested before your issuing date.
Corporate tax (IS)The standard rate is 25%, or 15% on the first EUR 42,500 of profit for qualifying SMEs (turnover under EUR 10m, fully paid-up capital and at least 75% held by individuals). The annual liasse fiscale is built from accounts kept on the Plan Comptable Général, and the FEC (Fichier des Écritures Comptables) must be produced on request in a tax audit.A chart of accounts on the PCG, entities kept separate, fixed assets recorded, and journals kept complete and sequential so the FEC can be produced on request.
Payroll (DSN, URSSAF, PAS)Every month the employer files the DSN (déclaration sociale nominative) through net-entreprises.fr, pays social contributions to URSSAF and withholds income tax at source (prélèvement à la source). Payroll runs on a French payroll engine such as Silae, PayFit, Sage Paie or Cegid; Zoho Payroll is not available in France.Zoho People kept as the HR record and connected to your payroll provider, so hires, pay changes, absences and leavers flow across without rekeying, and payroll journals posting to the ledger.
Employment and data rulesThe legal working week is 35 hours, with RTT days where working time is set above it, five weeks' paid leave (2.5 working days per month), sector collective agreements (conventions collectives) and mandatory company health cover (mutuelle). GDPR is enforced by the CNIL, including consent before non-essential cookies, and the Loi Toubon requires French in consumer documents, employment documents and contracts.Leave, RTT and working-time rules set per collective agreement, accounts provisioned in Zoho's EU data centre (zoho.eu), consent captured for every contact, French templates for customers and staff, and access and deletion requests handled on record.

The filing calendar

  • Monthly, quarterly or annuallyTVA return: the CA3 monthly (or quarterly for small amounts) under the régime réel normal, or the annual CA12 with instalments under the régime réel simplifié
  • MonthlyDSN through net-entreprises.fr, with social contributions to URSSAF and income tax withheld at source
  • Once a yearLiasse fiscale and corporate tax (IS) return, built from the annual accounts
  • 1 September 2026 and 1 September 2027E-invoicing: every business must receive from 2026, large and mid-sized companies issue from 2026, and SMEs and micro-businesses issue from 2027

Who you file with

We configure the system to produce what these returns need, and we test it against your own transactions before go-live. We are not tax advisers: your expert-comptable signs the returns, and rates and thresholds change, so treat this as the shape of the work rather than advice. Last reviewed 24 October 2026.

FAQ

Zoho Invoice in France: questions answered

How is Zoho Invoice set up for TVA and the CA3?
We map products and customers to their TVA rate and treatment, apply the reverse charge on intra-EU B2B sales, put your SIREN and intra-community VAT number on every invoice and test the CA3 or CA12 figures against a full period of your own transactions before handover.
Is Zoho Invoice ready for the 2026 e-invoicing reform?
From 1 September 2026 every VAT-registered business in France must be able to receive structured e-invoices, large and mid-sized companies must also issue them and e-report, and SMEs and micro-businesses must issue from 1 September 2027. We set the system up to produce Factur-X, UBL or CII and to exchange invoices through an approved platform. With Zoho Books, that means its Factur-X export and its connection to B2Brouter, an approved platform.
Is Zoho Invoice really free?
Yes. Zoho Invoice is free for small businesses within Zoho's usage limits. We charge only for the setup, branding, integration and training, not for the software licence.
Can Zoho Invoice handle TVA returns?
Zoho Invoice can charge TVA on invoices, but it is not a full ledger. Once you need deductible TVA tracking, bank reconciliation, CA3 or CA12 figures and e-invoicing through an approved platform, we recommend Zoho Books, and we migrate your Invoice data across when you make the move.
When should we upgrade from Invoice to Books?
When you need bank reconciliation, purchase bills, deductible TVA tracking, e-invoicing through an approved platform or proper management accounts. We plan the switch so customers, items and open invoices move with their history intact.
How much does Zoho Invoice cost in France?
Zoho licences it per user or per organisation depending on the edition, billed in EUR by Zoho directly. Our implementation is quoted separately as a fixed price after a free discovery call, so there are two clear numbers and no bundled surprises.
How long does a Zoho Invoice rollout take?
A focused Zoho Invoice build for a small French team typically goes live in three to six weeks including data migration and training. Larger scopes with integrations or multi-entity requirements are phased so value lands early.
Is Shyphan a Zoho Premium Partner in France?
Yes. Shyphan is a Zoho Premium Partner listed on Zoho's official partner directory, with certified consultants across Zoho CRM, Books, Creator, People and Analytics serving clients throughout France.
Do you work with businesses outside Paris?
Yes. We deliver remotely across the whole France, from Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Lille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Nice, Strasbourg, Grenoble, Montpellier and Rennes to smaller towns, with on-site visits available for larger rollouts.
Do you sign an NDA before we share our data?
Yes, as a matter of course. We also work in a sandbox with masked or sample data wherever the real thing is not needed, and document the processing arrangement for your GDPR record of processing activities.

Where this service is weak - and what we do about it

We are not the cheapest, and we decline work where the budget will not cover doing it properly or where the product is the wrong answer.

How we handle it: You get a written recommendation after the free discovery call either way, including when that recommendation is not to proceed.
