What we deliver

Customer Portal Development in the UAE: what is included

Customer portal development UAE distributors and B2B suppliers commission to cut the calls and emails about balances, invoices and deliveries.

01

Statements, invoices and online payment

Customers download VAT invoices showing your TRN, credit notes and statements of account, see overdue balances and pay by card or Apple Pay through Telr, Network International or Checkout.com. Payments post back to your ERP so credit control stops chasing settled invoices.

02

E-invoice copies for customers

As UAE e-invoicing phases start, customers still want a readable copy. The portal shows each invoice with its e-invoice status from your ERP and Accredited Service Provider, alongside the PDF, so both sides can confirm what was issued and received.

03

Order and delivery tracking

Open orders show status from confirmation to dispatch, with delivery notes and proof of delivery attached. Customers stop phoning sales to ask where their goods are, and your team sees which accounts check most often.

04

Tickets linked to the account

Customers raise support or complaint tickets against a specific order, invoice or asset. Tickets sync with Zoho Desk, Odoo Helpdesk or Dynamics 365 Customer Service, and customers follow progress without sending repeated emails.

05

Customers with several entities

Many UAE customers buy through a mainland company and a free zone entity. The portal groups linked accounts under one login, keeps statements and credit limits separate per entity and lets their finance team switch between entities quickly.

06

Multiple users per customer

Your customer's buyer, accountant and site manager each get their own login and role. The buyer places orders, the accountant sees statements, and the customer's own administrator adds or removes colleagues without contacting you.

What changes in the UAE

The local rules and realities we design for before go-live. Rules change, so we re-check the current position at scoping.

Aligned with e-invoicing dates

Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244 of 2025 set a pilot from 1 July 2026, AED 50M+ businesses from 1 January 2027 and others from 1 July 2027; check the Ministry of Finance for the latest dates.

Hosted in the UAE

Customer data and invoices stay on Azure UAE North or AWS me-central-1, which helps when larger UAE customers send security questionnaires before activating portal access.

Bilingual customer experience

Customers choose Arabic with a right-to-left layout or English; invoices, statements and email notifications follow their language, while PDFs keep the bilingual layout UAE tax invoices commonly use.

How it works

How we deliver customer portal development

Phases, indicative timing and what is delivered in each. Scope is fixed and priced in AED before we start.

1Weeks 1-2

Customer research

We review the questions customers send your sales, finance and support teams, and turn the most frequent into portal journeys.

2Weeks 2-3

Data mapping

We map every portal field to its source in your ERP, CRM or helpdesk and agree sync frequency and error handling.

3Weeks 3-10

Build

Sprints delivering sign-in, account screens, payments, tickets and integrations, with a staging portal loaded with test customers.

4Weeks 10-12

Friendly customer pilot

A few trusted customers use the portal for real; we adjust wording, permissions and performance based on their feedback.

5Weeks 12-13

Rollout

Account-by-account invitations, a short guide in Arabic and English, and support while adoption grows across your customer base.

When customer portal development is the wrong answer

If most customers buy once and rarely need documents afterwards, a portal will sit unused; better email templates and a payment link may be enough. If you already run Odoo or Zoho, their built-in customer portal can cover invoices and orders at lower cost. We recommend custom only when those limits hurt.

How we handle it: We implement Zoho, Odoo and Dynamics 365 and build AI and custom software, so our written recommendation can point you to a simpler option, or to doing nothing yet.

FAQ

Customer Portal Development in the UAE: questions we get asked

What does customer portal development UAE distributors need usually include?
Most include statements of account, invoice and credit note downloads, online payment, order tracking with proof of delivery and support tickets. Many add reorder from history and document downloads such as certificates. We prioritise by the questions your customers ask most.
How is a customer portal different from a custom portal or a partner portal?
A customer portal serves people who buy from you: orders, invoices, statements, payments and support. A partner portal serves those who sell for you, such as resellers and distributors, with deal registration and commissions. Custom portal development is the wider category for any audience, including suppliers or employees.
Can customers pay outstanding invoices in the portal?
Yes. Customers select one or several invoices and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through a UAE gateway such as Telr, Network International or Checkout.com. The payment is matched to the invoices in your ERP automatically, and a receipt is emailed at once.
Will customers see e-invoice status in the portal?
Yes, where your ERP and Accredited Service Provider return a status. The portal shows whether each invoice was transmitted and accepted, next to the PDF copy, so disputes about missing invoices are resolved from one screen.
Does the portal show live ERP data?
Yes, through the ERP's API: Zoho Books, Odoo JSON-RPC, Business Central or SAP. Balances and order statuses update in near real time, and heavy data such as years of statements is cached so the portal stays fast without overloading your ERP.
Why not just use the portal that comes with our ERP?
Often you should, and we will tell you. Built-in portals from Odoo or Zoho cover invoices and orders well. Custom makes sense when data comes from several systems, customers have multiple users with different roles, or the portal must match your brand and journeys closely.
Why choose Shyphan?
We are a Zoho Premium Partner, an Official Odoo Partner and an independent Dynamics 365 consultancy that also builds AI and custom software, so we recommend by fit rather than by what we resell. Delivery runs from our Ras Al Khaimah office with remote delivery across all seven emirates.
