Overview

ERPNext consulting for the way Dublin businesses work

A software firm in the Docklands, an architecture practice in Ballsbridge and a catering supplier in Ballymount all need different things from an ERP. The software firm bills monthly subscriptions in euro, sterling and dollars. The practice tracks timesheets against fixed-fee projects. The supplier lives on stock rotation and van deliveries. ERPNext can serve all three, but only when someone configures it for the business in front of them.

Our consultants start with questions rather than a demo script. What do you report to the board? Where do numbers get retyped? Which customers sit outside Ireland? From those answers we produce a short written recommendation: whether ERPNext is the right fit, which modules to switch on first, what to leave in existing tools and a realistic phase plan you can take to your directors.

What you get

How our Dublin consulting works

ERPNext fit review

A structured review of your processes against standard ERPNext, ending in a plain-English report listing what fits, what needs configuration and where a custom app or a different product would serve you better.

Subscription and recurring billing

For SaaS and managed service firms we set up subscriptions, auto-repeat invoices and payment terms, with revenue tracked by product line and currency, so monthly reporting stops being a spreadsheet exercise.

Projects and timesheets

Professional practices get projects, tasks, timesheets and billing against milestones or hours, with staff utilisation and project margin visible to the partners without anyone exporting data to a spreadsheet first.

Multi-currency invoicing set-up

Customers billed in sterling or dollars get their own price lists and receivable accounts, exchange rates can be fetched daily, and realised and unrealised gains post to the right ledgers at period end.

Wholesale and van sales

Distributors on the city's industrial estates get warehouses, pick lists, delivery notes and delivery trips, so drivers, stores and accounts all work from the same order instead of paper dockets.

Second opinion on stalled projects

If an ERPNext rollout has stalled with another provider or an in-house developer, we review the site, the custom code and the data, then give you an honest list of fixes in priority order.

Irish rules Dublin firms usually ask about

TopicThe Irish ruleWhat we set up
Services to EU businessesWhen you supply a VAT-registered business in another EU state, the reverse charge applies and the sale is reported on your VIES return. We validate customer VAT numbers at onboarding, apply an EU reverse charge template by tax category and give finance a periodic list of those sales for completing the VIES return.
Data protectionCustomer and employee personal data falls under GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, supervised in Ireland by the Data Protection Commission.Role permissions limit who sees contact details, user permissions restrict records by company or territory, and version history shows who changed which record and when.
Payroll for growing teamsEach pay run is reported to Revenue in real time under PAYE Modernisation, using the Revenue Payroll Notification issued for every employee.Fast-hiring teams keep starters, leavers and leave in Frappe HR, and a period export feeds your payroll bureau or in-house package, such as BrightPay or Thesaurus Payroll Manager.
VAT returnsMost VAT-registered businesses file VAT3 returns every two months and an annual Return of Trading Details on ROS, the Revenue Online Service.A script report totals output and input VAT by rate and period from posted invoices, with drill-down to each document, ready for your accountant to key into ROS.

We configure the system and check it against your accountant’s figures; we are not tax advisers, and your accountant files the returns. Last reviewed 24 October 2026.

How it runs

From first call to a clear plan

1

Introductory call

A short video call to understand your business, current systems and what prompted the search. We tell you honestly if ERPNext looks like a poor match.

2

Process walkthroughs

Your team shows us real transactions on screen, from a sales enquiry to cash received and from a purchase request to supplier payment, warts and all.

3

Written recommendation

A concise report sets out fit, gaps, suggested modules, integration needs and risks. It is written for directors rather than developers, with no jargon left unexplained.

4

Phase plan and quote

If you want to proceed, we turn the recommendation into a phased plan with a fixed price per phase and the internal effort each one needs from your people.

5

Delivery or handover

We can deliver the rollout ourselves or hand the plan to your in-house team or another provider, staying on call for design questions while they build.

FAQ

ERPNext Consultant in Dublin: questions answered

Do you have consultants based in Dublin?
No, and we have no Irish office. Our consultants work remotely on Irish time, which covers most of the work, and travel to Dublin for workshops when face-to-face sessions will genuinely move things along, such as process mapping with a large team or go-live support in a warehouse. Our nearest office is in London.
Can ERPNext handle SaaS subscription billing?
Yes. Subscriptions and auto-repeat documents generate recurring invoices on monthly, quarterly or annual cycles, in the customer's currency, with pro rata charges when plans change. For usage-based pricing we usually add a small integration that pulls usage figures from your platform before invoices are created.
We only want advice, not a full project. Is that possible?
Yes. A fit review or architecture review can be bought on its own. You receive the written report and a call to walk through it, with no obligation to use us for delivery. Some firms use our report to brief an internal developer or to compare quotes from several providers.
Can you rescue an ERPNext rollout another provider started?
Often, yes. We begin with an audit of configuration, custom apps, data quality and open issues, then propose a recovery plan. Sometimes that means fixing a few settings; sometimes it means moving custom code out of core files so the site can be upgraded again. You get the findings before committing to anything.
Will ERPNext work for a professional services firm with no stock?
Yes. Practices often use only Accounting, Selling, Projects and Frappe HR. Timesheets feed billing, expense claims recharge to clients, and project profitability is visible without stock modules ever being switched on. Unused modules can be hidden from the menus so the interface stays simple for fee earners.
What should we prepare before the first workshop?
A list of the systems you use today, sample documents such as an invoice, a purchase order and a management report, and the names of the people who know each process best. Rough volumes, such as invoices per month, help us judge hosting and performance needs.
