Step 1: Export and audit your Salesforce data

Pull a clean export of every object: Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities, Cases, Custom Objects, Tasks, Notes and Attachments. Audit for duplicates, dead leads (no activity > 12 months) and unused custom fields. Step 2: Map fields and rebuild your data model in Zoho

Salesforce has Salesforce-specific field types (formulas, roll-up summaries, picklist value sets) that don't 1:1 to Zoho. Document every custom field, then rebuild the Zoho data model with equivalents. Pay extra attention to picklist values, mismatched values silently break data on import.

Step 3: Migrate, validate, then connect your stack

Use Zoho's Migration Wizard or the official Salesforce-to-Zoho connector. Migrate in this order: Users → Accounts → Contacts → Leads → Opportunities → Activities → Attachments. After each batch, validate record counts and spot-check 10 records manually. Then reconnect integrations: email (Outlook/Gmail), website forms, marketing automation, accounting (Zoho Books).
