How it works

The business process, step by step

  1. 01

    Brand purchase

The purchasing team raises brand purchase orders in Odoo Purchase for the beauty and cosmetics products it distributes, so incoming stock is planned against confirmed orders with each brand.

  2. 02

    Batch receiving

Warehouse staff receive goods against the purchase order in Odoo Inventory, recording the batch for each product so it can be tracked from receipt through to customer orders.

  3. 03

    Channel orders

Orders from the Glow Via Me web store and from the Noon and Amazon marketplaces flow into Odoo Sales and draw on one shared stock pool in Odoo Inventory.

  4. 04

    Dark-store pick-pack

Odoo Inventory holds stock by dark-store location and manages pick-pack operations, so staff can pick and pack orders quickly while batch details stay attached to each item.

  5. 05

    Last-mile dispatch

Packed orders are handed to 3PL and courier partners for last-mile delivery. Delivery status from courier tracking is recorded back in Odoo, so the team can follow each shipment.

  6. 06

    Invoice, returns and margin

Odoo Accounting issues invoices in line with ZATCA requirements, records returns and reports margin per channel, taking returns and channel fees into account so finance can compare channels.

FAQ

Questions about this project

How are cosmetic batches tracked?

Batches are recorded in Odoo Inventory when goods are received against brand purchase orders. The batch stays attached to the stock as it moves to dark-store locations and onto customer orders, so each batch can be traced from receipt to order.

How do marketplace orders affect stock?

Orders from the Noon and Amazon marketplaces and from the Glow Via Me web store all update the same stock pool in Odoo. This keeps one view of available stock across every channel the company sells through.

How is margin reported per channel?

Odoo Accounting records invoices and returns for each channel, and channel fees are taken into account in the margin reporting. This gives a view of margin for each channel rather than one blended figure for the whole business.
