Managed IT services for Bahrain
Software does not look after itself. Servers need patching, apps need updating, and a small issue that nobody is watching has a habit of turning into a weekend outage. Managed IT services hand that whole job to a team that does it every day, so the people inside your business can get on with the business instead of firefighting.
This is increasingly important in Bahrain, where Bahrain's position as a regional fintech and startup hub and more Bahraini companies in Manama, Riffa and Muharraq now run day-to-day operations on cloud apps that simply have to stay up. Shyphan monitors, maintains and supports those systems, and because we are watching proactively we usually catch problems before your users ever notice them. You are billed a predictable monthly fee in USD or BHD, so there are no surprise invoices.
Everything runs to a service-level agreement with response and resolution times you can hold us to, and you deal with senior engineers rather than a scripted call centre. We cover the full picture, including application updates and fixes, cloud and DevOps, security, backups, a helpdesk for your team, and dedicated care for business platforms like Zoho and Odoo. You simply choose the support tier that matches how critical your systems are.

What Bahrain compliance means in practice
Bahrain has no personal income tax and no general corporate income tax, so most of the compliance load sits in two places: VAT with the National Bureau for Revenue, and the workforce obligations administered by the SIO and the LMRA.
| Obligation | What the rule is | What has to be configured |
|---|---|---|
| VAT | VAT is 10 per cent, raised from 5 per cent in January 2022. Registration is compulsory above the mandatory threshold. Returns are monthly for larger taxpayers and quarterly for the rest, filed with the National Bureau for Revenue. | Tax codes for standard, zero-rated and exempt supplies, tax invoices carrying the fields the NBR requires in Arabic and English, and a return that reconciles to the ledger. |
| Corporate taxation | There is no general corporate income tax; it applies only to oil and gas activity. A 15 per cent Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax applies to in-scope multinational groups from 2025. | For a group subsidiary, a ledger that supports the parent's consolidation and the top-up tax computation without a separate set of books. |
| Social insurance | Contributions go to the Social Insurance Organisation, at different rates for Bahraini and expatriate employees. | Two contribution rule sets applied by nationality, so the payroll does not need a manual adjustment every month. |
| Bahrainisation and the LMRA | The Labour Market Regulatory Authority administers work permits and the Bahrainisation ratio your licence requires. | Nationality, permit number and expiry held against every employee, with the ratio reported rather than counted by hand, and permit expiry alerts before they bite. |
| Wage Protection System | Salaries must be paid through the Wage Protection System so that payment is traceable to the registered employment record. | A WPS-format payment file generated from the payroll run, matched to the same employee records the permits are held against. |
| Commercial registration | Commercial registrations are maintained through Sijilat and renewed annually, with activity codes that have to match what you actually do. | Licence and registration expiry tracked in the system alongside the contracts that depend on them. |

We configure the system to produce what these returns ask for, and we test it against your own transactions before go-live. We are not tax agents: your accountant or tax adviser signs the return, and rates and thresholds change, so treat this as the shape of the work rather than advice. Last reviewed 15 September 2026.
