Local compliance

What Ireland compliance means in practice

Almost everything Irish Revenue wants arrives through ROS, and payroll arrives on or before the day people are paid. For a subsidiary of an overseas group the harder part is usually not the Irish return itself but keeping the Irish books in a shape that satisfies both Revenue and the parent's reporting calendar.

ObligationWhat the rule isWhat has to be configured
VATThe standard rate is 23 per cent, with 13.5 and 9 per cent reduced rates and a zero rate on several categories. VAT3 returns are normally bi-monthly through ROS by the 23rd, and a Return of Trading Details follows annually.Tax rules per rate and per supply type, reverse charge on intra-EU acquisitions and on construction under RCT, and a VAT3 that reconciles to the ledger without a spreadsheet in between.
PAYE ModernisationA payroll submission goes to Revenue on or before each payday, carrying PAYE, PRSI and USC for every employee. There is no annual P35.Revenue Payroll Notifications imported before each run, so employees are taxed on the credits Revenue has actually issued rather than last month's.
Relevant Contracts TaxPrincipal contractors in construction, forestry and meat processing must notify each contract and each payment to Revenue, and deduct at the rate Revenue returns.Subcontractor records that hold the RCT rate and the deduction authorisation, with payment notification built into the payment run.
Corporation tax12.5 per cent on trading income and 25 per cent on passive income, with a 15 per cent effective minimum for in-scope large groups under Pillar Two.Trading and non-trading income separated in the ledger from the start, because splitting them afterwards is where the time goes.
Companies Registration OfficeAn annual return on Form B1 within 56 days of the annual return date, with financial statements attached.Statutory accounts produced from the same ledger the management accounts come from, so the two do not have to be reconciled.
GDPRThe Data Protection Commission supervises GDPR in Ireland, and is lead supervisory authority for many of the technology companies established here.Lawful-basis and consent records held against the contact, retention applied by the system, and subject access answered from a report rather than a search of inboxes.

The filing calendar

  • Every paydayPayroll submission to Revenue through ROS
  • Bi-monthly, by the 23rdVAT3 return
  • Monthly, by the 23rdPAYE, PRSI and USC payment
  • Within 56 days of the ARDForm B1 annual return to the CRO

Who you file with

We configure the system to produce what these returns ask for, and we test it against your own transactions before go-live. We are not tax agents: your accountant or tax adviser signs the return, and rates and thresholds change, so treat this as the shape of the work rather than advice. Last reviewed 15 September 2026.

FAQ

Zoho Implementation Partner Ireland: questions answered

How does PAYE Modernisation change the payroll process?
A payroll submission goes to Revenue on or before each payday, carrying PAYE, PRSI and USC for every employee, and there is no annual P35 to catch up on. The part that matters in setup is importing Revenue Payroll Notifications before each run, so people are taxed on the credits Revenue has actually issued.
Is Shyphan a Zoho Premium Partner in Ireland?
Yes. Shyphan is a Zoho Premium Partner, verifiable on Zoho's official partner directory, delivering Zoho implementation, customization, migration and support for businesses in Ireland and across Ireland.
Which Zoho products are most popular with Irish businesses?

Can you migrate us from Salesforce, HubSpot or QuickBooks to Zoho?
Yes. We run structured migrations from Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, QuickBooks and spreadsheets into Zoho with mapped data, history and no downtime.
Is Zoho cheaper than Salesforce or HubSpot?

Which Zoho plan is right for a small business?
Most small and mid-sized businesses start with Zoho CRM or the all-in-one Zoho One suite. After a free discovery call we recommend the right edition based on your team size, the apps you need and your budget.
Do you integrate Zoho with our existing tools?
Yes. We integrate Zoho with Stripe, QuickBooks, Shopify, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack and more via APIs, Zoho Flow and Deluge.
Can you build custom apps and automations on Zoho?
Yes. We build custom low-code apps on Zoho Creator and automate approvals, alerts and workflows with Deluge, Zoho Flow and REST APIs, tailored to your industry and processes.
How long does Zoho implementation take?
A focused CRM or Books rollout typically takes 2-6 weeks; a full Zoho One ERP deployment takes longer depending on modules, data migration and integrations. We confirm a milestone timeline up front.

Where working with us is weak - and what we do about it

No partner can fix a process nobody owns internally. Projects fail on unowned data cleansing, scope that grows without being re-priced, and training cut to hit a date - not on the software.

How we handle it: We name those three as risks in the proposal and ask you to nominate an internal owner before we start.
