How we approach a Just Eat-style build
- Business model interrogated before the feature list
- A first version scoped to one journey, not the full product
- Fixed price in EUR per phase so runway is plannable
- iOS, Android and the admin console nobody remembers to budget for
- Source code, store accounts and infrastructure in your ownership
What an app like Just Eat actually involves
Just Eat connects diners, restaurants and riders, with the restaurant and rider sides carrying most of the operational weight. Three-sided marketplaces fail on the merchant side long before the technology matters. Menu onboarding, live order acceptance and settlement reporting are what restaurants judge you on.
A credible first version needs a customer app, a merchant tablet app, a rider app, order routing, live tracking, payments and a support console. Everything beyond that is a later phase, and treating it that way is the difference between launching and running out of money at eighty per cent complete.
We will also tell you when the answer is not to build. If the market is served, the unit economics do not work, or the operational side is the real barrier, that is worth hearing before the budget is committed rather than after.
Our certified Zoho team
Just Eat-style products built for the German market
We build for founders and corporate teams in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf and Dresden, with accessible, WCAG-tested interfaces, regional payment gateways and the delivery and logistics integrations this market actually uses.
A parent-company licence, a group entity and a branch office often sit under one owner here, so the software has to keep entities clean while giving the group one view. That shapes what a first version should contain far more than any feature comparison with Just Eat does.
Closely related on the same stack: Build an App Like Airbnb in Germany, Build an App Like Amazon in Germany and Build an App Like Bolt in Germany.
The stack we build on
Chosen for maintainability and for the fact that you, or anyone you hire later, can work on it. Nothing exotic that only we can support.
How we build a Just Eat-style product
Model first, prototype second, build in phases, each priced as a fixed sum in EUR.
Model and scope workshop
We pull apart the business model before the feature list, because the hard part of a Just Eat-style product is rarely the software.
Clickable prototype
The core journey as a prototype you can hand to real users before committing to a build budget.
Customer and provider apps
iOS and Android built from one codebase, with the second-side app or web console the model needs.
Admin and operations console
The part nobody demos and everybody needs: onboarding, disputes, pricing, payouts and support tooling.
Launch and iterate
Store submission, analytics from day one, and a roadmap driven by what users actually do.
Industries we serve in Germany
From technology and finance to manufacturing, healthcare, retail and professional services.

What Germany compliance means in practice
German compliance is less about rates than about evidence. GoBD requires bookkeeping that cannot be altered without leaving a trace, documented in a Verfahrensdokumentation, and the Betriebspruefung will ask for the data in a form it can read. E-invoicing has made that stricter rather than looser.
| Obligation | What the rule is | What has to be configured |
|---|---|---|
| Umsatzsteuer | 19 per cent standard and 7 per cent reduced. The Umsatzsteuer-Voranmeldung is filed monthly or quarterly through ELSTER by the 10th, with a Dauerfristverlaengerung buying a further month, and an annual Umsatzsteuererklaerung follows. | Steuerschluessel per transaction type, reverse charge under Paragraph 13b, and intra-Community supply evidence held against the invoice rather than in an email. |
| E-invoicing | Since 1 January 2025 every domestic business must be able to receive a structured e-invoice in XRechnung or ZUGFeRD format for B2B supplies. Issuing them becomes mandatory in stages from 2027. | Inbound e-invoices parsed and posted rather than printed, and outbound invoices produced in a compliant format now, so the deadline is a switch rather than a project. |
| Lohnsteuer and social insurance | Wage tax is declared monthly through ELSTER. Health, pension, unemployment and long-term care contributions are reported by SV-Meldung and paid by the third-last banking day of the month, which means estimating before the month has ended. | Contribution classes and health-fund rates held per employee, and the payment estimate produced by the system rather than by a rule of thumb. |
| GoBD | Books must be complete, correct, timely, ordered and unalterable, retained for ten years, and accompanied by a Verfahrensdokumentation describing how the system achieves that. | An immutable audit trail, document archiving tied to the transaction, and a written Verfahrensdokumentation delivered with the system - not left as your homework. |
| DATEV | Most Mittelstand companies work with a Steuerberater who lives in DATEV. Whatever the system is, the month-end has to arrive there cleanly. | A DATEV-format export of postings and master data, agreed with your Steuerberater before go-live rather than after the first month-end goes wrong. |
| Company taxes and filings | Koerperschaftsteuer at 15 per cent plus the 5.5 per cent Solidaritaetszuschlag, and Gewerbesteuer set by the municipality, which together usually land near 30 per cent. Financial statements are published through the Bundesanzeiger. | Gewerbesteuer add-backs identifiable in the ledger, and a statutory reporting structure that produces the publishable accounts. |

We configure the system to produce what these returns ask for, and we test it against your own transactions before go-live. We are not tax agents: your accountant or tax adviser signs the return, and rates and thresholds change, so treat this as the shape of the work rather than advice. Last reviewed 15 September 2026.
