Azure Migration Services
Planned migration of on-premise servers, databases and applications to Microsoft Azure, built on a secure landing zone. For organisations retiring server rooms, ending hosting contracts or consolidating data centres.
- Assessment before any server moves
- Secure landing zone from day one
- Tested cut-overs with rollback
Azure migration services move servers, databases and applications from an on-premise data centre or hosting provider into Microsoft Azure. The work includes assessing workloads, building a secure landing zone, deciding whether each system should be rehosted, replatformed or retired, migrating in tested waves and right-sizing afterwards, so performance holds and running costs stay predictable.
Azure Migration ServicesAzure Migration Services: what it involves
Moving to Azure is often triggered by a deadline: hardware out of warranty, a hosting contract ending or a data centre closing. Under that pressure, teams copy virtual machines across as they are, size them like the old hardware and leave networking and security for later. The result is a monthly bill higher than expected, applications that perform worse than they did on-premise and an environment nobody designed to be governed.
We start with discovery using Azure Migrate and conversations with application owners, grouping servers by dependency and deciding for each whether to rehost, replatform onto managed services such as Azure SQL, or retire. Before anything moves we build a landing zone: subscriptions, networking, identity, policies, monitoring and backup. Workloads then move in waves, each with a test plan, an agreed cut-over window and a rollback path. After each wave we right-size resources based on real usage.
Before you migrate to Azure
- 1Every server, its owner and the applications that depend on it
- 2Software licences that may or may not transfer to Azure
- 3Network links between your offices and the new environment
- 4Data residency requirements for personal or regulated data
- 5Acceptable downtime for each business-critical system
Our Azure Migration Services scope
Servers, databases and apps moved to Azure on a tested landing zone

Servers, dependencies and performance data gathered with Azure Migrate.
Subscriptions, networking, identity, policy and monitoring built first.
Rehost, replatform or retire decided for each workload.
SQL Server and other databases moved to VMs or managed services.
Each wave tested with application owners before cut-over.
Resources resized after migration based on actual usage.
What you receive, and what shapes the cost
What you receive
- An assessment report listing each server, its dependencies and its target
- A landing zone with subscriptions, networking, identity and policies
- A wave plan with test steps, cut-over windows and rollback options
- Migrated workloads with backup and monitoring switched on
- A post-migration sizing and cost review
What affects the cost
- Number of servers, databases and applications in scope
- How many workloads need replatforming rather than a straight lift
- Network connectivity required between offices and Azure
- Licensing position, such as eligibility for Azure Hybrid Benefit
Azure Migration Services: project phases
- 01Assess
We collect inventory and performance data and map application dependencies.
- 02Prepare
We build the landing zone with networking, security and governance in place.
- 03Migrate
We move workloads in waves, testing each one with its application owner.
- 04Optimise
We right-size resources and hand over runbooks for ongoing operation.
Common Azure Migration Services mistakes
Copying old server specs produces oversized machines, so size on measured usage.
Migrating into an ungoverned subscription creates security gaps, so build policies and networking first.
Moving one server without its database or file share breaks applications, so map dependencies before planning waves.
A failed cut-over without a way back extends downtime, so keep the source running until sign-off.
Azure Migration Services terms explained
- Landing zone
- A pre-built Azure environment with networking, identity, policy and monitoring ready for workloads.
- Rehost
- Moving a server to Azure as a virtual machine with little or no change.
- Replatform
- Moving an application onto a managed Azure service, such as Azure SQL, with small changes.
- Azure Hybrid Benefit
- A licensing option that lets eligible Windows Server and SQL Server licences reduce Azure costs.

The difference you will notice
- 01A governed environment
Policies, tagging and access controls in place from the start.
- 02Fewer bill surprises
Workloads sized for real demand, not old hardware.
- 03Controlled cut-overs
Each wave tested with a clear rollback path.
Five steps from assessment to always-on support
- STEP 01Assess
We review your infrastructure, security posture, assets and support model, and agree priorities.
- STEP 02Design
A clear architecture and plan, with scope, timeline and a fixed quote before work starts.
- STEP 03Deploy
We supply, install, configure and migrate, then document everything we build.
- STEP 04Manage
Ongoing support, monitoring and maintenance under agreed SLAs.
- STEP 05Improve
Regular reviews, reports and recommendations as your business grows.
Azure Migration Services in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
Local offices in Ras Al Khaimah and Riyadh, remote support around the clock and on-site visits where your project needs them.

Azure Migration Services in the UAE
Shyphan AI Technology LLC, RAK Free Trade Zone, Ras Al KhaimahAzure has two regions in the UAE, UAE North in Dubai and UAE Central in Abu Dhabi, so UAE organisations can keep workloads in the country. We plan connectivity from offices across the emirates and free zones, and design storage and access so data handling can be explained under the UAE PDPL or the DIFC and ADGM regimes where they apply. We support the Emirates from our Ras Al Khaimah office, remotely around the clock and on site where needed.
- Data handled in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), and the separate DIFC and ADGM regimes where they apply.

Azure Migration Services in Saudi Arabia
Shyphan AI Technologies LLC, Malaz, King Abdulaziz Road, RiyadhSaudi organisations need to decide where each workload may be hosted, considering the Saudi PDPL overseen by SDAIA and, for government and critical infrastructure, the NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls. We assess data classification first, then plan hosting and connectivity for sites in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province accordingly. Our Riyadh office leads this work in the Kingdom.
- Work aligned with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (SDAIA) and, for government and critical infrastructure, the NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls.
Azure Migration Services: common questions
Do all servers need to move at once?
No. We move workloads in waves grouped by dependency, so the business keeps running throughout.
Can we keep our data in the region?
Azure has data centre regions in the Middle East and elsewhere. We help you choose locations that match your data residency and compliance needs.
Will our existing Windows Server and SQL licences help?
They may. Azure Hybrid Benefit lets eligible licences with Software Assurance reduce running costs. We check your licensing during assessment.
What happens after the migration?
You can run the environment yourself with our documentation, or hand it to our Azure managed services team.
Can a Saudi company host workloads in Azure UAE regions?
That depends on the data involved and the rules that apply to your sector. We review data classification and regulatory requirements with you before choosing a region.
Do we need to rewrite our applications to move to Azure?
Usually not. Most workloads can move as virtual machines first, and we identify which ones would benefit from managed services later.
Do you provide Azure Migration Services in Dubai and Riyadh?
Yes. We deliver Azure Migration Services across the UAE from our Ras Al Khaimah office and across Saudi Arabia from our Riyadh office, with remote support 24/7 and on-site visits in cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam where your project needs them.
