AWS Managed Services
Ongoing operation of your AWS accounts: monitoring, patching, backup, security findings and cost control. For organisations running production workloads on AWS without a dedicated cloud operations team.
- CloudWatch alerts handled 24/7
- Security Hub findings worked through
- Monthly cost and usage reviews
AWS managed services is the ongoing operation of your Amazon Web Services accounts by an external team. It covers monitoring, patching, backup, security findings, cost control, incident handling and changes across compute, storage, databases and networking, while you retain ownership of the accounts. It lets organisations run production on AWS without building a full in-house cloud operations team.
AWS Managed ServicesAWS Managed Services: what it involves
Running on AWS shifts responsibility rather than removing it. Under the shared responsibility model, AWS secures the underlying infrastructure, while operating systems, data, access and configuration remain yours. Many teams discover this when an S3 bucket turns out to be public, an EC2 instance has gone unpatched for months, or a forgotten test environment has been running at full size since last year.
We run your accounts to an agreed runbook. CloudWatch alarms route to our 24/7 team, Systems Manager handles patching on a schedule and AWS Backup policies are monitored with periodic restore tests. Security Hub and GuardDuty findings are triaged, then fixed or escalated, and IAM is reviewed for unused or over-privileged access. Monthly reviews use Cost Explorer and Trusted Advisor to find idle resources, rightsizing options and Savings Plans that fit your usage.
What we check regularly
- 1S3 buckets and snapshots that are publicly accessible
- 2EC2 instances missing patches or running unsupported systems
- 3Access keys that are old, unused or attached to the root user
- 4Backups that failed or have never been restore tested
- 5Resources without owner or cost-centre tags

What you receive, and what shapes the cost
What you receive
- Monitoring and alerting with defined escalation for each workload
- Patching of instances under an agreed schedule
- Backup checks and regular restore tests
- Periodic reports on security findings, cost and incidents
- A maintained set of runbooks and architecture diagrams
What affects the cost
- Number of accounts, instances and managed services in scope
- Required support hours and response targets
- Whether container platforms or serverless workloads are included
- The volume of planned changes and improvement work
AWS Managed Services: project phases
- 01Assessment
We review accounts, security posture and operational gaps.
- 02Remediation
We fix urgent issues and set up monitoring, backup and access controls.
- 03Operations
We run day-to-day support, patching and incident response.
- 04Review
We report regularly and agree improvements to cost, security and reliability.
Common AWS Managed Services mistakes
Using the root user for routine work is a serious risk, so lock it away with MFA and use named roles.
Without audit logs you cannot investigate incidents, so keep logging on in every account.
Old snapshots and volumes quietly add cost, so review and clean them up regularly.
AWS secures the platform but not your configuration, so own patching, access and data protection.
AWS Managed Services terms explained
- Shared responsibility model
- The split where AWS secures the cloud platform and the customer secures what runs on it.
- CloudTrail
- An AWS service that records account activity and API calls for auditing.
- GuardDuty
- An AWS service that detects suspicious activity in accounts and workloads.
- IAM role
- A set of permissions that people or services assume for a task, without long-term passwords.

The difference you will notice
- 01Fewer exposed resources
Public access and weak permissions closed quickly.
- 02Reliable operations
Patching and backups run on a schedule, with evidence.
- 03Lower waste
Idle and oversized resources removed or resized.
Five steps from assessment to always-on support
- STEP 01Assess
We review your infrastructure, security posture, assets and support model, and agree priorities.
- STEP 02Design
A clear architecture and plan, with scope, timeline and a fixed quote before work starts.
- STEP 03Deploy
We supply, install, configure and migrate, then document everything we build.
- STEP 04Manage
Ongoing support, monitoring and maintenance under agreed SLAs.
- STEP 05Improve
Regular reviews, reports and recommendations as your business grows.
AWS Managed Services in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
Local offices in Ras Al Khaimah and Riyadh, remote support around the clock and on-site visits where your project needs them.

AWS Managed Services in the UAE
Shyphan AI Technology LLC, RAK Free Trade Zone, Ras Al KhaimahUAE businesses running AWS often combine workloads in the UAE region with SaaS tools and local servers in offices or free zones. Managed services keep these consistent, with access records and logs that support questions from clients or regulators under the UAE PDPL and, where relevant, DIFC or ADGM rules. We support the Emirates from our Ras Al Khaimah office, remotely around the clock and on site where needed.
- Data handled in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), and the separate DIFC and ADGM regimes where they apply.

AWS Managed Services in Saudi Arabia
Shyphan AI Technologies LLC, Malaz, King Abdulaziz Road, RiyadhFor Saudi organisations, AWS operations must reflect where data may be hosted and who can access it under the Saudi PDPL. Where NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls apply, we keep evidence of logging, patching and access reviews, with support from our Riyadh office for teams in Jeddah and the Eastern Province too. Our Riyadh office leads this work in the Kingdom.
- Work aligned with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (SDAIA) and, for government and critical infrastructure, the NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls.
AWS Managed Services: common questions
Is AWS responsible for securing our workloads?
AWS secures the cloud infrastructure. Your operating systems, data, access and configuration remain your responsibility, and that is the part we manage.
Can you manage accounts another provider built?
Yes. We begin with an onboarding review, fix urgent risks and then take over operations.
Do we lose control of our AWS accounts?
No. You keep ownership, and we use role-based access that you can audit or revoke at any time.
Do you support containers and serverless?
Yes, including Amazon ECS, EKS and Lambda workloads, under a scope we agree based on your architecture.
Can you take over AWS management from another provider in Riyadh?
Yes. We review the accounts, agree a handover with the outgoing provider where possible, and fix urgent gaps before taking on day-to-day operations.
Do you support Kubernetes on AWS?
Yes. We support Amazon EKS clusters as well as ECS and serverless workloads, depending on the agreed scope.
Do you provide AWS Managed Services in Dubai and the UAE?
Yes. We deliver AWS Managed Services across the UAE from our Ras Al Khaimah office, covering Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, with remote support 24/7 and on-site visits where your project needs them. For Saudi Arabia, our Riyadh team covers the same service.
