Cloud Security Assessment
A cloud security assessment reviews how your Azure, AWS or Google Cloud environment is configured, from identity and permissions to networking, storage and logging. It is for organisations that moved to the cloud quickly and now want to confirm it is set up safely.
- Misconfigurations found and ranked
- Identity and permissions reviewed
- Mapped to recognised benchmarks
A cloud security assessment is a structured review of how an Azure, AWS or Google Cloud environment is configured, covering identity and permissions, network exposure, storage, encryption, logging and monitoring. Shyphan AI ITSM compares your setup with recognised benchmarks and ranks fixes by risk for organisations in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, working with read-only access.
Cloud Security AssessmentCloud Security Assessment: what it involves
Most cloud incidents trace back to configuration rather than the provider: a storage bucket left public, an access key committed to a code repository, a database open to the internet, logging never switched on. Under the shared responsibility model, the provider secures the platform but you are responsible for how you use it. Environments grow quickly, several teams create resources, and settings drift away from the original design.
We combine posture tools, such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, AWS Security Hub or open-source scanners, with manual review against the CIS Benchmarks. We look closely at identity and access management, privileged roles, network exposure, encryption, storage access, logging and backup. Findings are ranked by risk and grouped into quick fixes and longer pieces of work, with the exact settings to change. We can then implement the fixes or support your cloud team.
What we check
- 1Root and global admin accounts protected with MFA
- 2No long-lived access keys with broad permissions
- 3No storage or databases open to the public by mistake
- 4Audit logging enabled and kept for an agreed period
- 5Backups and recovery tested for key workloads
Our Cloud Security Assessment scope
Azure, AWS and Google Cloud reviewed for risky settings, exposed services and weak identity.

Roles, keys and permissions checked for excess access.
Public endpoints, open ports and internet-facing services found.
Buckets, blobs and databases checked for public access and encryption.
Audit logs, alerts and retention confirmed as switched on.
Findings mapped to the CIS Benchmarks for your platform.
Fixes carried out by us or guided for your team.
What you receive, and what shapes the cost
What you receive
- Inventory of the cloud accounts, subscriptions and key resources reviewed
- Findings mapped to a recognised benchmark such as CIS
- List of publicly exposed services and storage with recommended fixes
- Identity and permission review highlighting excessive rights
- Prioritised remediation plan with owners and a suggested order
What affects the cost
- Number of cloud accounts, subscriptions or projects
- Number of cloud platforms involved
- Whether containers, Kubernetes or serverless workloads are in scope
- Level of remediation support wanted after the review
Cloud Security Assessment: project phases
- 01Access and scope
Read-only access is granted and the accounts in scope are confirmed.
- 02Automated review
Configuration is checked against benchmarks using native and third-party tools.
- 03Manual analysis
Analysts examine identity, networking and data paths that tools cannot judge alone.
- 04Report and fix
Findings are prioritised and we help your team apply the most urgent changes.
Common Cloud Security Assessment mistakes
Broad owner or admin roles granted for convenience are a common breach route, so apply least privilege.
Storage shared publicly for testing is easily found, so review sharing settings regularly.
Without activity logs an incident cannot be investigated, so enable and retain cloud audit logs.
Old development subscriptions often have weak controls, so include every account in scope.
Cloud Security Assessment terms explained
- Shared responsibility model
- The split of security duties between the cloud provider and the customer.
- CSPM
- Cloud security posture management: tools that continuously check cloud settings against policies.
- IAM
- Identity and access management: the controls that decide who can do what in a cloud account.
- CIS Benchmark
- A published set of recommended secure configuration settings for a platform.

The difference you will notice
- 01Fewer risky settings
Common cloud misconfigurations closed.
- 02Tighter permissions
Users and services hold only the access they need.
- 03A clear plan
Quick fixes and longer actions ranked by risk.
Five steps from assessment to always-on support
- STEP 01Assess
We review your infrastructure, security posture, assets and support model, and agree priorities.
- STEP 02Design
A clear architecture and plan, with scope, timeline and a fixed quote before work starts.
- STEP 03Deploy
We supply, install, configure and migrate, then document everything we build.
- STEP 04Manage
Ongoing support, monitoring and maintenance under agreed SLAs.
- STEP 05Improve
Regular reviews, reports and recommendations as your business grows.
Cloud Security Assessment in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
Local offices in Ras Al Khaimah and Riyadh, remote support around the clock and on-site visits where your project needs them.

Cloud Security Assessment in the UAE
Shyphan AI Technology LLC, RAK Free Trade Zone, Ras Al KhaimahMany UAE organisations host workloads in Microsoft Azure's UAE North (Dubai) and UAE Central (Abu Dhabi) regions to keep data in the country, and we confirm that resources, backups and logs actually stay where intended. The review also documents PDPL security measures and helps DIFC or ADGM firms answer customer and regulator questions about cloud controls. We support the Emirates from our Ras Al Khaimah office, remotely around the clock and on site where needed.
- Data handled in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), and the separate DIFC and ADGM regimes where they apply.

Cloud Security Assessment in Saudi Arabia
Shyphan AI Technologies LLC, Malaz, King Abdulaziz Road, RiyadhSaudi organisations using cloud services need to consider PDPL rules on transferring personal data outside the Kingdom and, where they are in scope, NCA cybersecurity requirements for cloud use. We record where each workload and data store is located and check that settings align with those obligations, leaving legal interpretation to your advisers. Our Riyadh office leads this work in the Kingdom.
- Work aligned with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (SDAIA) and, for government and critical infrastructure, the NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls.
Cloud Security Assessment: common questions
Which cloud platforms do you assess?
We assess Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, including hybrid setups that connect to on-premises systems.
What is the shared responsibility model?
The cloud provider secures the underlying platform, and the customer is responsible for how they configure identities, networks, data and workloads on it.
Do you need admin access to our cloud?
We normally ask for read-only access, which is enough to review configurations without being able to change anything.
Does this include Microsoft 365?
Microsoft 365 is covered by our separate Microsoft 365 security review, which can be combined with an Azure assessment.
Can you check whether our cloud data stays inside the UAE?
Yes. We review the region of each resource, backup and log store and flag anything replicated or stored outside the regions you have chosen.
Is a cloud security assessment a one-off or an ongoing service?
It can be either. Many clients start with a one-off review, then add periodic reassessment or continuous posture monitoring.
Do you provide Cloud Security Assessment in Dubai and Riyadh?
Yes. We deliver Cloud Security Assessment across the UAE from our Ras Al Khaimah office and across Saudi Arabia from our Riyadh office, with remote support 24/7 and on-site visits in cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam where your project needs them.
